Tim Smith is a Partner in NFRN’S Chicago office. Tim draws upon twenty-five years of expertise in political campaigns, government relations, lobbying and issue management. Smith directs national grassroots and grasstops issue advocacy programs for The Midwest Coca-Cola Bottling Company and is a senior strategist for The Coca-Cola Company. Mr. Smith also manages the Indiana Field Team for Altria Corporate Services and directs lobbying for Daiichi Sankyo Pharmaceuticals. Previous clients represented include United Airlines, Walgreens, Illinois Tool Works, Motorola, ServiceMaster and dozens of state and national trade associations.

Mr. Smith served as finance director and campaign manager for congressional campaigns in Georgia and California. Previous to those efforts he was a member of the Republican National Committee’s Legislative Task Force, working with state party committees and elected officials to ensure Republican statehouse majorities in 1989 and 1990. In 1988, Smith served as Finance Director for Congressman Arlan Stangeland, as a Field Director for the Minnesota Republican Party from 1985-1987 and as a Field Director for Senator Rudy Boschwitz in 1984.

A Minnesota Native, Smith has a bachelor’s degree in speech communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from St. Cloud State University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Historic Pullman Foundation and is a commissioner on the Planning Board in Michigan City, Indiana. Tim, his wife Nancy, and their four children reside in Michigan City.
